Local Riders have attended several of the rallys recently held. The Veteran's Rally in Perry
County was a great success with about 170 bikes taking part in the 100 mile ride. Many of the non-riding public came
to enjoy the live music, vendors and good food. The veterans themselves seemed to enjoy the day. Venom Tours was
invited to set up an information booth and took the opportunity to meet the rides and inform them of the many great riding
adventures available in Breathitt and surrounding counties. If you missed this rally, you should make it a point to
attend next year. The site is beautiful and the cause is worthy.
The Tennessee State H.O.G. rally was a great success as usual. The musicians featured were
excellent, particularly Cross Canadian Ragweed. If you haven't heard this Oklahoma band you don't know what you're missing.
Check out their web site. Their music is available on i-tunes as well. The riding aroung Maryville is excellent
with the Dragon in easy range as well as the Foothills Parkway and the Cherohala Skyway. The Skyway may be the best
ride of all. If you haven't ridden it yet, make it a point to go.
The Kentucky State H.O.G. rally was nothing to brag about. Between the bad weather and the
lack of continuous live music (which is a given at every rally) the rally was disappointing to say the least. It seemed
more like a sale the dealership was having than a well organized event. Thats a shame since the Eastern part of
the state has the best riding of any section. Maybe the organizers will do a better job next year. Photos taken at these
rallys will be available on this site in the near future.
